The UB7-S GT-2160™ sneaker is inspired by the themes of Interlaced Assemblages, Functional Utopias and Mino Ceramics, combining soft textures with the idea of handcrafted elements found in iconic works of art. By creating matte and washed-out colors, the design team was able to enhance the archival form and construction of the traditional running shoe.Contrasting grid-like patterns and bold, opaque colors, the Functional Utopia-inspired variations make a direct reference to nature. These glossy primary colors are set off by metallic textures that accentuate the double-layered mesh materialization. The designers also explored the influences of Mino ceramics by examining the contemporary processes of rust-like properties that occur in Mino glazes. This process views images as a vessel with attenuated colors that can stand the test of time.
